N-4 A Tragic Story

This is yet another tragic story of racial discrimination.  Trayvon Martin was a normal kid who got the fate he didn't deserve because he was African American.  Trayvon Martin was a normal kid with a normal life until her died.  I blame the bad law enforcement for this sad story.  They killed an innocent kid just because he was African American. The law enforcement should have been paying attention to what they are doing, not being part of the problem. Zimmerman was part of that so-called law enforcement.n that case, he was part of the problem just like everyone else who was with him. Law enforcers also shouldn't push people to the ground unless they are part of the problem.  Trayvon was not part of the problem. In fact, he was the victim.   People like me think Zimmerman should be in jail for what he did. Right now, Zimmerman is incognito, and it will only be a matter of time before he will be caught. Justice hasn't been done. It will never be done until Zimmerman gets arrested. Justice won't come any faster because the media is taking this case way too far. This case is already a controversial issue, and the media is making this case more controversial.  People have expressed opinions, some of which are so strong that justice hasn't been done.  The media's stories are making this story more tragic than it already is.  The Trayvon Martin case is yet another tragic story.

N-2 Future Career

In the future, I would like to work as a speech therapist. When I was younger, I was language delayed. So I would like to teach kids from experince. People often learn better with experince. I know that first hand.  Mrs. Bibler was my speech teacher. (And she was my 5th grade teacher.)  Since I was language delayed, Mrs. Bibler had a tough job to do. It was easy to work with her becuase she was so patient. I also hope to be a speech therapist because I need to work on my patience.   I can be impatient sometimes. Another reason I hope to be a speech therapist is because I like kids. Over the summer, I voulnteered at Vacation Bible School, and it was a good experience.  Since Mrs. Bibler was so good with kids, she enjoyed working with me.   However, the job market is so competitive now that it's hard to get a job as a speech therapist. So I've got a back-up plan.  I am hoping to work in hosptitality. What I mean by that is  working in a resturant or  help cook the food in a resturant.   With hospitalty, I also will have good people skills. That applies to both jobs.  Another backup I have is being the head of a recreation department for kids.  That calls for people skills. I would have control over the activities that will  be held.  These are my my dream careers.

N-1 Spring

Today is the first day of spring.  Since it's today, it is appropriate to write this blog.  The best thing about spring is the nice weather.  Personally, spring has the best weather out of the four seasons.   I don't have to worry about snow pelting onto me as I walk home from school. And rain is limited.  This year we are very fortunate to have nice weather early. It is going to be in the seventies all week. The ideal weather condtions for me in the spring in fifties and sixties and sunny. I also like not wearing a coat when walking home from school. Once it's March ,and the weather is nice, I don't wear a coat home from school because it is a big pain.  Another thing I like about spring is that spring vacation is near. Once spring is hear,it makes me look forward to April break more than ever.   Another thing is  that I don't have to stay inside every afternoon. My paretns don't have to tell me to go out and frolic. I go outside on my own. Even if it means sitting on my deck, I am still outside.  Another thing is that I like to see the butterflies and the birds come out again. It is so nice to see wildlife after the long winter. My final positive is that I never run out of things to do.  A negative is that  spring is so short. Because of the hot temperatures in May, I can only really enjoy spring for a month.  That is really sad.   Another downer is staying after in the spring. The weather is so gorguoes that staying after really stinks, especially if you like to go outside like me.  These are all the positives and negatives of spring.

Happy Spring

M-3 Choice

For this choice blog, I am going to write about a particular project that my sister made me and the rest of my family (and her boyfriend in two scenarrios)sit through.  You see, my sister is in American Film. And this particular project is the dreaded Alfred Hitchcock project. My sister had trouble picking out which films to watch. With the help of my mother, she picked out four films to watch.(She,of course, would only do her project on one of these films.) I was hoping  to get out of this.  Unfortuantley, I wasn't able to.  For the first movie, my sister made me, my mom, my dad, and her boyfriend watch it with her. The first movie wasn't too bad. In fact, I enjoyed it. The only problem I had with it was the two stars. One of them was addicted to drugs, and his speech was slurred. I hated, and still do,the other star. He spoke in an annoying monotone voice, and when he wasn't annoying,he mumbled. I swear that he was chewing gum for half of the movie. (I found out later he slept around. Another reason to hate him.) The second movie wasn't bad either. It had the guy I hate ,though, and he was worse in that movie. I wanted to strangle him by the time the movie was over. The third movie was slow. Nothing happened for the first hour and a half. I hate when that happens. The fourth one was boring.  It was so boring that I fell asleep.  Unfortunatley, my sister's boyfriend was over, and he made fun of me when the film was over. Was I ever relieved when those movies were over!  I still can't believe that my sister made me and the rest of my family sit through those movies.  But I lived through those movies. It's a miracle I'm still alive.  But I lived through it, and that's all that matterd.

M-2 The most embarssing moment

The most embarssing moment of my life? Oh gosh. This is going to be hard since I constantly do stupid things that turn out to be embarssing. But there is one embarssing moment that sticks in my mind.
One day, I was in JC Penny's with my cousin Abby. We were looking at prom dresses. I wasn't going to prom myself because I wasn't old enough. (I was a lowly underclassman,a freshman, at the time). I wanted to look at prom dresses because my friend Julie was lucky enough to go to the prom, and she was talking about prom dresses that day in art class. (Julie's boyfriend was a junior at the time. They are still together as of this writing.)
Back to the actual story. I found a few dresses I liked. So I told my cousin that I was going to try on the dresses that I liked. Abby was going to wait outside the dressing room.
I started trying on the dresses.  The first two didn't fit at all.  The third actually fit pretty good. So I showed Abby, who liked it a lot. When I went back into the dressing room,I tripped onto the dress, and some of the material on the bottom ripped.
Poor Abby had to tell the store mananger that I ripped the dress. Let me tell you that the store manager was not happy when Abby told her that I ripped the dress.  She was furious. I was so embarssed!
Fortuantley for me, I tried on one more dress, and it fit great.  That made me feel a LOT better!
That is an embarssing moment that I will never forget.

M-1 Saint Patrick's Day

There is a holiday in March that we call Saint Patrick's Day. I'm not Irish,so I don't really celebrate the holiday. But there are celebrations in school that I take part in.  When I was younger, my classmates and I celebrated in school by making crafts related to the holiday and having stories read to us by my teacher. I used to think the leperchauns were real.  Believe me,everyone thinks they are real at some point. I also thought pots of gold at the end of the rainbow were real.  I remember one year when every single treat we ate was green.  Even the rice krispee treats we ate were green! There was another year when one of my classmates took us on a scavenger hunt where we had to solve all of these riddles. I am horrible at riddles. So the scavenger hunt took me longer than intended. Last year, Mr. Edward, one of my teachers, asked the class  to take a Saint Patrick Day quiz.  Fortunatley for eveyone, the quiz wasn't graded because I failed epically. That quiz, actually, was something to laugh about. To this day, I still give Mr. Edward credit for thinking up that one.  This year, Saint Patrick's Day is on a Saturday,so I'll be missing the chance to celebrate in school.  (This is because of the fact there is no school on Friday.)  I also believe in four leaf clovers.  Finding a four leaf clover in my book is lucky.  Considering the luck I've been having lately,I'll get one the first chance I get. Even though I Saint Patrick's Day is not one of the holidays I celebrate,I still like it.

L-4 School Dances

For my choice blog, I decided to write about school dances.  A normal person would look forward to a school dance, but personally, I dread school dances. I don't know if this makes me a bad person, but I don't get excited for school dances. I honestly don't.  When my friends talk about how excited they are for the dance,I listen for a while and then I tune out.  The worst part is the dance is the only thing ANYONE talks about until the week after the dance is over.  The music at school dances is often lame. I'm sorry, but I just can't enjoy the music unless I'm really into it.  I sometimes go to the dances for the food. Who doesn't love food? I know I LOVE food.  I'm sorry to say that sometimes, even the food is lame.  (This one time, I complained to my friend that the food looked like a kndergarten snacktime. She laughed.) I also hate when people compliment my dress so many times. Sure,it's great to have a compliement given to you,but i'ts also annoying when you get so many. At homecoming, I got so many compliements that I ignored people after a while.  The worst part of the dance is when I'm not having a good time. This is when the food stink, the music is lame, and on top of it, I'm having the worst time.  My friends are great when they try to cheer me up,but in reality,it's hard to feel better when your'e already having a horrible time.  Sometimes I pretned that I'm having a good time by putting a fake smile on my face.  And I also speak in a really, and I mean really, fake British accent.  I don't know if my friends ever found out my act yet,but I try to put on a good show. Latley though, I found the solution around school dances, don't go. It is not worth the fake smile and the British accent just to pretend I'm having fun, when really, I'm not.    Those are all the reasons I dread school dances.
