S-3 My last Online Publishing Blog

This is my last Online Publishing blog of the year, so I'll make this short and sweet.

I am very glad about my decision to take Online Publishing  this year. The reason I wanted to take Online Publishing is that I wanted to improve my writing.  As I started writing my blogs, I realized that I was very glad to take Online Publishing.  There were a lot of things I could improve on my writing. I used those improvements on my articles for the Bulldog.

The blog that I enjoyed writing the most was the blog on my special friend Jackie Cooper.  Jackie is  someone special that I wanted to pay tribute to in writing. I feel it was one of the best blogs I ever wrote.  R.I.P Jackie. You will be missed.

I also enjoyed writing the blogs where I had to interview Austin Hopcia and Rachele Sisson.  Taking a look at their lives was interesting, and I learned a lot that I didn't know. I didn't know  Austin was so good at baseball that he moved up to Varsity halfway through his freshman year season. I didn't know Rachele has two dogs, six cats, two goats,  two hamsters, a rabbit, a frog, a turtle, a rabbit, a bird, and a guinea pig.  It was great getting to know these people.

I am going to miss Online Publishing. I am very glad I took this class because I improved my writing.

I will miss everyone I met in this class.  Austin, Mex, Meghan, Shannon, and Brian: I will see you guys in school next year. I won't be in this class next year,but I'll  see you guys around.  Thanks for everything.

S-2 Top Five Moments in Online Publishing

I have been in Online Publishing for nine long months. And yet, there have been some memories in that class. I'll write them here.

1) Amber and Tara's taco dip. Their taco dip was very good. I ate it every chance I(or shall I say the girls) had the taco dip. I'd like to thank Amber and Tara for making the taco dip. I will also remember the boys eating like pigs. (HA HA HA HA)

2)  The time Amber let May 31sth pass in Kyle Klug's article.  Amber is one of our own senior editors of the Bulldog. She has been with the Bulldog for a number of years. Just because you're experienced in the business  means  you get off scot free, right?  Not exactly. Even though Amber is experienced,  she got called out by Mr. Currin by letting May 31sth pass in Kyle Klug's month of May article. Oh well. None of this would have happened if Month of May articles never existed.  But the point is experience doesn't let her get off scot free.


3)  I'm always getting off task. It's true. I get off task because I'm looking up random stuff when I'm working or editing Fakebook, etc. Ditto to anyone who agrees.

4)  The endless laughter in Online Publishing. Of the nine months I was in Online Publishing, there were a lot of laughs.  In fact, we never went a class without laughing.  A day without laughter is a day wasted. Beleive me, days were never wasted in that class.

5) Memories are like moonbeams. That's what Online Publishing is. It's full of memories.

S-1 How to make Online Publishing better

I have been in Online Publishing for nine long months. There are some things I liked about the course and other things I didn't. One reason to make Online Publishing better is not to swamp us every week with work. Once I get my weekly blogs and my newspaper article, I feel swamped. with work.  There is so much work every week that I can't get my priorities straight. And in Online Publishing, there is no slacking time.  My point?  Lighten the work load a little. Another reason to make Online Publishing better is making us write less on our blogs. 300 words is a lot for anyone to write, especially on a topic that isn't a favorite to write about.  Another reason to make Online Publishing better is  more taco dip. Amber Breyer and Tara Hammerschmidt made the best taco dip ever. I liked their taco dip very much and loved it when I(or shall I say the girls) had a chance to eat it. A reason to make Online Publishing better is to not have the class compismed of mostly seniors. I know that's not my control that there are only six underclassmen---me, Shannon Purdy, Austin Hopcia, Meghan Snyder, Mex Miner, and our very own senior editor Brian Stoldt. One more reason to make Online Publishing better is pep talks from Brian Stoldt and Mr. Currin.  I get those already from Brian Stoldt and Mr. Currin, but those pep talks need to be more encouraging.  These are my reasons to make Online Publishing better.

R-3 Things I love writing about

I love writing about Art Club because that is what I've been part of (and still am) for two school years.  I love the Art Club advisor, Mrs. Kosinski. She was my art teacher when I took Studio in Art, and she is one of the reasons why I joined Art Club.  I love writing about all the cool activites Art Club does. The icebreaker drawing was really fun to write about because everyone was really creative with the drawing.  I also loved writing about Art Club movie nights.  Those were the best because Mrs. Kosinski always picked the best movies to watch. When I was at movie night, I watched Toy Story 3 and Hoodwinked.  I enjoyed myself when I watched those movies. More importantly, I was with my friends. I had a blast. 
I also love writing about movies. It's not surprising, but I'm addicted to movies.  I enjoyed writing film reviews for The Bulldog as well as in my own blog.
But it's the blogs that get me thinking that I enjoy the most. I like writing the controversial blogs because it gets my blood flowing. Those blogs really make me think.
In fact, every post I write makes me think whether I know it or not.

R-2 Mr. Currin

I don't know if we really need to debate about this, but Mr. Currin is kind of a big deal. Mr. Currin is a big deal in Online Publishing by walking in and saying "Best class ever!" That still makes me jump every time. And I've been in that class for how many months? Let's see..........  A grand total of nine long months in Online Publishing. And yet that STILL makes me jump!
Mr. Currin is also a big deal in that class by making Brian Stoldt do most of the pep talks in the class. Yeah, we all know Brian has a lot to say, but still. Make some of the pep talks once in a while.
Mr. Currin is also a big deal by singling out bulldog reporters Kyle Klug and Amber Breyer for their faults.  It's funny, but that's part of being a big deal.
Mr. Currin, I think you're forgetting one more class you're kind of a big deal in------my 1st block English 11 class.
I remember when my class was acting out The Crucible.  You actually made our class pretend when we were in 1692 Salem, when in reality, none of us were awake enough to pretend to be there. We were only awake enough to know we were in 2012 in your classroom at Alden High School. Mr. Currin, you were kind of a big deal with the acting aspect also.  You went OVERBOARD  with the acting! You made Scott Aldinger play John Proctor, you made Megan Glinski play Abigail Williams, and you made sleepy Wes LaBar  play Reverend Paris. I think they were aggravated with you by the time we finished reading The Crucible because you were just TOO into it. You made Scott and Megan repeat lines all the time, and you would always make comments in the middle of reading. (One time, you acknowledged that Reverend Paris is a Sabres fan because of Wes' Sabres jersey.) And what was with Roy from Salem?  According to you, Roy was supposed to be silent. But Mr. Currin, you made Roy a big deal too.  Roy was supposed to be a silent witness who was only supposed to appear when it was getting lame. Roy appeared every TEN minutes!  You told Scott, Megan, and especially Wes to be enthusiastic. (Poor Wes got hit the hardest with that.)
I'm sorry to say, but you even make Regents Prep a big deal.  I know it was like a week ago, but you gave my class this big speech indicating you don't like anybody including yourself during Regents Prep. 
Let's get  this straight. Mr. Currin is kind of a big deal.

R-1 The end of the school year

If I were to say what the best part of the end of the school year is, it would be the last day of school parties. I am always looking forward to these parties.  The reason I look forward to these parties is because my teachers plan these parties with us weeks in advance.  I like participating in these plans. Kids always have really wild ideas like a slip and slide or a gorilla bounce house in the middle of the classroom. I am one of those kids that always suggests these wild ideas. (In 8th grade, I suggested bringing in a ball pit. One of my friends suggested going surfing in the ball pit.) 
Freshman year, I had a Mexican party in Mrs. P's Spanish class.  My friends and I got to make our own quesadias.  We got to eat our quesadias while watching the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua.  That same year in English class, we got to eat junk food such as chips,cookies, popcorn, and Cheetos while we were talking and signing yearbooks.  I though that party was fun because I didn't have to sit in one spot. I could roam around the room freely.  In fact, it is very hard for me to stay in one spot on the last day of school. I just get too excited.
Last year, I had one party, and that was not much fun.  It was one of the most boring last day of school parties ever.  There was no junk food. All we did was play the game of Life. (I know......)
Luckily, Jeff Lake came and saved the day.  He was going down to the gym to play Targetball.  So I tagged along. Watching people play Targetball was much more exciting than playing the game of Life.  (I'm glad I didn't stay at THAT party the whole time.)
I'm excited for this year. I can't wait for the last day of school parties. I wonder what's in store this year.

Q-4 The Beach

Today, I am going to write a blog on the beach.  The beach is a great place to go over the summer.  My family and I used to go to the sea all the time when I was younger. I spent many of my family vacations at the beach. They were the best vacations of my life.
When I got to the beach, I would always pick the spot that had the best sand. I used to bury my feet in the sand. That was always relaxing to me. I used to love making sandcastles with my sister. We used to bring our beach shovels and pails and make enormous sandcastles. My favorite part of building these sandcastles was filling my pail with sand. My sister and I also made moats around our enormous sandcastles.  Those were the days.
I also liked swimming in the ocean. My sister and I used to play games in the ocean. She hated getting splashed, so I tried to splash her as much as possible.
My family and I would spend almost all day at the beach. I was sad when we had to leave.
That is my fondness of the beach.
